Bienvenue à Notre-Dame-de-Grâce is looking to hire a TECHNICAL ASSISTANT for a temporary (8-week-long), part-time position (28 hours per week) as part of a summer job program financed by the federal government.

Bienvenue à Notre-Dame-de-Grâce is a non-profit organization whose mission is to facilitate the integration of immigrants (newly arrived or otherwise) into the community life of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce as well as into the host society, and to foster intercultural relations.

DESCRIPTION OF THE MANDATE:

Under the supervision of the organization’s coordinators and the director, the office assistant will occupy a supporting role during business hours, performing administrative and customer service duties. This position involves working closely with the organization’s coordinators.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a point of contact with clients to identify their needs

  • Understand the services we offer and provide information by telephone or by answering email inquiries

  • Coordinate appointment scheduling and schedule changes

  • Update relevant information for internal and external usage

  • Participate in weekly staff meetings via Zoom

  • Prepare, photocopy and print various documents while respecting confidentiality

  • Assist with research, translation and accounting support

  • All other related tasks in administrative support and customer service

REQUIREMENTS:

As this is a detailed 8-week contract funded by the Government of Canada in order to provide employment opportunities specifically to citizens and residents under the age of 30, we are mandated to hire a person between the ages of 18 and 30 who holds citizenship or permanent resident or refugee status. Foreign students are unfortunately not eligible.

  • Available part-time (28 hours per week) for a period of 8 weeks 

  • Good command of French and English – a third language is an asset.

  • Good command of the Windows environment, Microsoft Office.

  • Strong writing and communication skills.

  • Effective time and priority management.

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to collaborate with different interlocutors

  • Reliability, autonomy and organizational skills marked

CONTRACT CONDITIONS

Salary : 15$/hour

Length of contract: 8 weeks

Working hours: Monday to Friday from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm (total of 28 weeks)
