Multilingual integration counsellor – ROMANIAN

Bienvenue à Notre-Dame-de-Grâce is looking for a ROMANIAN-speaking multilingual integration counsellor
Object: The multilingual integration counsellor will intervene directly with immigrants, and especially with
members of cultural communities living in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce burough.
Description of tasks :
● Meet immigrant persons and families through various partner organisations, events or social spaces of
Notre-Dame-de-Grâce and encourage their participation in the activities of the organisation.
● Find ingenious ways to better reach immigrants living in NDG.
● Welcome newcomers individually and inform them about the different steps of the integration process
(particularly administrative procedures) as well as the resources available within the NDG community as
well as the community at large.
● Establish an integration plan with the participants, according to their needs, with a holistic view, both
personally and professionally and ensure follow-ups with the participants.
● Create, translate and distribute multimedia documents and materials such as flyers or brochures in
order to promote the different programmes and services offered.
● Translate information and present it during social activities and workshops held by the organisation.
● Organise and lead programmes, services and special events that strengthen and encourage community
participation and develop intercultural relations(festivals, socio-cultural events, group activities and
workshops, outreach kiosks, to name a few examples).
● Actively support the organisation’s francization program, particularly with regard to registration, follow-up
and information service for students through in person, written and by telephone.
● Actively support the Intercultural Exchange program, in collaboration with the person in-charge, in order
to achieve its objectives, including promotion, recruitment of participants, organising meetings and
information sessions, preparing reports, to name a few.
● All other related tasks
Qualifications and skills of the ideal candidate:
● Education: Undergraduate college or university degree in a relevant field or work experience deemed
equivalent
● Good knowledge of French and English. Excellent knowledge of ROMANIAN.
● Excellent sense of initiative and resourcefulness. Ability to work independently.
● Excellent interpersonal, organisational, communication and time-management skills.
● Interest in community setting and the integration of immigrants.
● Experience in intervention, leading group activities and event organisation.
● Knowledge of the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce district and / or living in NDG is an asset.
● Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and the Google suite.
Salary: as per the current salary policy Duration of the contract: from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023.
Working hours: 28h / week

Bienvenue à Notre-Dame-de-Grâce is looking for two (2) Technical Support Assistants for a temporary (8 weeks) full-time position (30 hours per week) funded by the federal government. 

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS: 

Under the supervision of the person in charge of the project, the technical support assistant offers support to the participants of the Bienvenue à Notre-Dame-de-Grâce programs, in order to strengthen their digital skills and facilitate their understanding and use of websites. internet and access to public and institutional websites and services. 

DUTIES: 

  • Answer questions by chat, email or phone. 
  • Train and provide training to immigrant families in computer literacy. 
  • Writing, editing and reviewing training manuals for new and updated software and hardware. Provide technical support for questions and issues 
  • Troubleshoot problems with networks and other computer systems. 
  • Diagnose system errors and other problems. 
  • Follow up with participating families to ensure full resolution of issues. 
  • Ask for feedback and/or monitor calls and other correspondence methods to improve training methods. 
  • Run reports to analyze common complaints and issues. 
  • Installation or modification of software to resolve problems. 
  • Remote access to hardware or software for customers to make changes and resolve issues. 

REQUIREMENTS and REQUIRED PROFILE 

Since this is a 8-week contract funded by the Government of Canada with strict requirements to provide employment opportunities specifically to citizens and residents under the age of 30, we must award the mandate to a person between the age of 18 and 30 and who holds a citizenship or permanent residence permit or refugee status. International students are unfortunately not eligible for this program. 

  • Good command of French and English – a third language is an asset 
  • Good knowledge of the Windows Suite, Microsoft Office 
  • Strong writing and communication skills 
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, communication and time-management skills. Excellent customer approach 
  • Ability to collaborate with different interlocutors 
  • Excellent sense of initiative and resourcefulness.

Type of employment: Full time, temporary 

Salary: $16/hour 

Contract duration: 8 weeks 

Working hours: 30 hours per week, flexible/changing schedule.

Bienvenue à Notre-Dame-de-Grâce est à la recherche de deux adjoint(e)s administratif(ive)s soir et fin de semaine. 

Description des tâches : 

  • Être présent au bureau pour répondre aux appels téléphoniques et aux courriels, bien comprendre les besoins de la clientèle afin de les informer de nos services, céduler et modifier les rendez-vous avec les membres de l’équipe. 
  • Aider à gérer les horaires des intervenants et des professeurs afin d’optimiser la prise de rendez-vous et l’utilisation des salles de cours. 
  • Soutenir la mise à jour du site web, des plateformes de médias sociaux et d’outils informatiques, en incluant les bases de données de l’organisme. 
  • Soutenir activement l’inscription des étudiants dans les programmes de francisation de l’organisme et effectuer les tâches administratives liées à leur inscription. 
  • Produire des informations en transcrivant, en mettant en forme, en saisissant, en éditant, en récupérant, en copiant et en transmettant du texte, des données et des graphiques. Rédiger les ordres du jour des réunions, les manuscrits, les lettres et d’autres documents. Lire et acheminer la correspondance et initier les télécommunications. 
  • Recueillir des renseignements; copies, tabulations et publications de données; et préparer des dossiers et des rapports. 
  • Passer et gérer les commandes de services. 
  • Maintenir l’inventaire des fournitures de bureau en vérifiant les stocks pour déterminer le niveau des stocks, anticiper les fournitures nécessaires, passer et accélérer les commandes de fournitures et vérifier la réception des commandes. 
  • Tâches administratives diverses ex. : Soutenir la gestion comptable, des fournisseurs, inventaire, équipement de bureau, etc. 

Qualifications et compétences du candidat: 

  • Études : Diplôme collégial de 1er cycle dans un domaine pertinent ou expérience de travail jugée équivalente. 
  • Très bonne connaissance du français et de l’anglais. Une troisième langue est un atout.
  • Excellentes habiletés en communication et compétences interpersonnelles et relationnelles.
  • Intérêt envers le milieu communautaire et l’intégration des immigrants. 
  • Expérience en intervention, en animation de groupe et en organisation d’événements.
  • Habiter dans Notre-Dame-de-Grâce est un atout. 
  • Bonne connaissance des logiciels de la suite Microsoft Office. 

Type d’emploi : Temps partiel, permanent. 

Salaire : selon la politique salariale en vigueur. 

Heures de travail : 20 heures par semaine.

Poste numéro 1: Horaires de travail variable: lundi de 13h30 à 20h – ET – du mardi  au jeudi  de 15h30 à 20h

Poste numéro 2: Horaires de travail variable : lundi de 13h30 à 18h30 – ET – vendredi  de 15h à 20h – samedi et dimanche de 9h à 14h
