Multilingual Computer Literacy Training Program

Multilingual Computer Literacy Training Program BNDG project Montreal

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Bienvenue à NDG team has been listening to the changing needs expressed by our community in order to develop programs and solutions that directly address those needs. While virtual communication has become the preferred means of contact for the whole of society, the digital divide has proven to be one of the greatest challenges identified.

The Digital Citizenship project was elaborated as part of our agreement with the Newcomers Integration Office of Montreal (BINAM) in order to overcome this digital barrier and equip immigrant families in the neighborhood with the necessary tools to navigate this new reality. The main objective of the project is to facilitate better integration of immigrants into the host society while promoting their autonomy.

In January 2021, a group of multilingual volunteers was trained by La Puce IT resource in order to themselves become volunteer trainers able to support program participants in the language of their choice. These volunteers then became multiplying agents for the initiative throughout the neighborhood, passing on their knowledge to members of their own cultural communities.

Bienvenue à NDG is currently seeking participants for a relaunch of the Digital Citizenship project.
