DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

Multilingual Computer Literacy Training Program

Multilingual Computer Literacy Training Program BNDG project Montreal

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the Bienvenue à NDG team has been listening to the changing needs expressed by our community in order to develop programs and solutions that directly address those needs. While virtual communication has become the preferred means of contact for the whole of society, the digital divide has proven to be one of the greatest challenges identified.

The Digital Citizenship project was elaborated in collaboration with MIFI in order to overcome this digital barrier and equip immigrant families in the neighborhood with the necessary tools to navigate this new reality. The main objective of the project is to facilitate better integration of immigrants into the host society while promoting their autonomy.

Many volunteer trainers collaborate with us and are able to support program participants in multiple languages: currently French, English, Arabic, Mandarin and Portuguese. These volunteers are multiplying agents for the initiative throughout the neighborhood, passing on their knowledge to members of their own cultural communities.

The project currently receives funding from the Government of Canada.
