support for a successful first school transition

Your child’s first day of school is a major milestone, bringing changes like gaining independence, adapting to a new environment, leaving familiar places, and making new friends. Naturally, as a parent, you may feel a mix of emotions and concerns.
As part of the Jumpstart project, we help you better understand and navigate through the different stages of your child’s development, particularly during their first transition to the Quebec school system. Bimonthly activities and workshops focused on key areas of child development aligned with the Quebec school system, will be organized to enhance your parental skills in an immigration context and facilitate a smooth transition for you and your child.

Funded by Réseau réussite Montréal and in partnership with local schools, libraries, and community centers in NDG, the project aims at providing continuous support adapted to the needs of immigrant families during a course of ten months, with the aim of promoting the child’s well-being as well as academic success. Are you interested in being part of this transformative journey? Is your child 4-5 years old? Will your child start kindergarten in September 2025?
